From Exit 12th Street in Ogden, cruise up Ogden Canyon and onto the road snaking along the southern edge of Pineview Reservoir. Turn onto the scenic Highway 39 and soon you’ll arrive at this tranquil lake spot – perfect for making a splash! You can also access this spot from Morgan, UT, following the Trappers Loop. Heading North on Trappers, once you reach Huntsville, simply follow the road East!
Parking can be the tricky part of visiting this spot. There are a lot of parking spots available at the South side of the reservoir, but it fills up quickly since it is such a popular destination. There are also spots to park on the North side of the reservoir, which is a popular place for fishing and loading paddle boards and small peddle boats. Access to the water can be found in all of these spots, some requiring a little bit of a hike.
Once you get to Causey, be prepared for no cell service. You lose service shortly after going through the Ogden Valley, and while you may be able to find a few spotty service spots, be prepared for any emergencies!
