The pond provides a habitat for various types of wildlife, with docks that facilitate the viewing of ducks, geese, fish, and other creatures, including frogs and turtles. Cast your line in the serene pond, but don’t forget to keep an eye out for the wild critters who call it home. The ducks and geese roam freely around the area, so staying aware of them coming in contact with your line is crucial. 

The path surrounding the pond is paved and takes approximately 10 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace. It’s easily accessible for those with wheelchairs or strollers, and there’s a paved parking lot right off Country Hills Drive. Don’t leave your four-legged companion behind! Bring them along for the adventure, just make sure they’re leashed up and ready to explore! Take a leisurely stroll along the trail and discover hidden spots for picnics, nature appreciation, and kid-friendly fun.

There are also many different dirt trails leading off of the pond path, perfect for a little extra adventure. Many of these paths are made by the surrounding wildlife, so, of course, be mindful and respectful! From peaceful benches to bustling play areas, there’s no shortage of spots to sit and soak up the scenery. Since the park is right on the mountain, you can expect to see the gorgeous surrounding wildlife exploring, like deer! 

Located on the west side of the pond, there is a trail that leads to Forest Green Park and crosses a charming bridge. These adjacent parks make the day trip fun for the entire family. Forest Green Park provides spacious grassy areas suitable for family activities like picnics and games. The park has a stunning waterfall that makes a great spot for photos, and covered picnic shelters that can be rented out through Ogden City for any of your family or even work events. The playground offers a woodchip base, with seating all around it so you can relax while you watch the kiddos play.

The pond is just a few miles away from the Weber County Ice Sheet, which can be rented out for family skating, or a great spot to watch the local hockey team. Or if you’re in town for an event at the Dee Events Center, the pond is a great break from crowds, perfect for antsy kids needing to get a break from the overwhelm. 

If you’re in the mood for some extra adventure, the pond is nearby various hiking trails. Just a short distance away from the pond you can find the Beus Canyon Trail, Centennial Trail of Weber County, or the MTB Trailhead in Ogden. These spots are great for a more challenging hike, mountain biking enthusiasts, or families looking for some extra adventure. 

After a day of exploring nature, there are plenty of restaurants that are perfect spots for the entire family. The Pie Pizzeria is a local favorite, offering delicious pizzas and other dishes. The pond is accessible every day of the week during daylight hours. The visiting hours range from 6 AM to 8 PM, allowing for both early morning and late evening visits.

Forest Green Park offers a playground, grassy field, and duck pond with ample wildlife, making it a suitable location for people of any age. The area provides ample space for children to play and explore safely, as it is located away from major roads and is easy to supervise. The playground is a haven for little ones, while the vast field is a sports and picnic paradise for bigger kids and adults!

Park Facilities

The Country Hills entrance of Beus Pond Park has a small paved parking lot, which is one of the main facilities available. The parking lot is regularly maintained and offers sufficient parking for visitors. There are well-maintained restrooms located a short distance from the east-side parking lot on the trail. The restrooms are clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities.

For families with children, the playground at Forest Green Park is a great facility to take advantage of. The playground is also well taken care of, with a wood-chipped area and a range of equipment that’s suitable for children of all ages. Scattered all throughout both Beus Pond and Forest Green Park are benches and picnic tables that make it easy to stop and take breaks at any time and enjoy the wildlife.
